Travel Queen Camper on Chevrolet Silverado Truck
Mounted on this red Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab is a Travel Queen cab over camper. The camper sets on a utility bed with storage cabinets. The cabinets allows the camper to have a whole lot more places to put things. The Travel Queen has an aluminum skin and features a distinctive arch top with a slanted V-nose front face at the cab over. Another innovation included built in Safety jacks to assist with mounting and dis mounting the camper from the truck The design was to help with reducing wind resistance and the arch tap was to help with cross winds. This particular unit also has a roof mounted air conditioner. I estimate that the Travel Queen is a mid 60’s 10.5 ft model. The camper was made in Riverside, CA in the mid-sixties. A prominent RV manufacturer through the 1970s and 1980s, Travel Queen were focused on the creation of quality-driven recreational products. Travel Queen production ended after the 1989 model year.
