I’ve driven old IH trucks when I fueled airplanes in the late ’90s. Some of them were scary setups, being older tankers with a “newer” cab welded to them. Yes, a ’65 cab and about that much frame, was the “new” part. Good thing the things were limited to low speeds but the welding was horrid looking and one did need repair though it also needed rear brake drums and none were to be found, so it got sent back the the company it was leased from (my quote to the owner – “Wait. You were paying someone to use that piece of shit?”). I was glad when they lost the contract and I followed to the new company We got much newer IH trucks for the job). Noisy as hell too. Now, a bunch of sound deadening and insulation with a nice AC system put in, would quiet things a lot and it would still drive like an empty truck. Some water tanks and storage to smooth the bedsides would be cool to do.
