1951 Chevrolet Truck with Avion C-10 Camper
Check out this vintage red 1951 3600 Chevy 3/4 ton stepside pickup truck with a 1966 slide in cab over Avion C-10 Camper. Avion campers have all aluminum sliding. The C-10 fit a 4 x 8 floor Pickup Bed. The camper is a full 8 foot wide by 8.5 foot high by 14 foot long. It has the cab over design and the back hangs over the back of the truck bed. This camper has been designed to use every possible amount of space and has a massive amount of storage. It features a full kitchen, complete with 3 burner stove, oven, and refrigerator. This camper is equipped with a large bathroom which includes a toilet, shower, and sink. It has a full loft bed in the cab over along with the dinette which folds into a bed as well. This give you most of the comforts of home.
The truck is a vintage 1950 Chevrolet pickup with a stepside bed. The standard engine is a 215 cubic inch, 2 barrel carburetor, inline 6 cylinder. The engine provides about 92 horsepower. The transmission is a 4-Speed Manual on the floor shift. The interior features a bench seat.
The tire rims have 8 lugs.
Inspired by the look of the aircraft the Avion features a distinctive silver aluminum skin. It has large curving smooth corners. This helps with the aerodynamics reducing wind resistance going down the road. The origin of the word Avion is either French and Spanish and its meaning is airplane the root Latin is “avus” meaning bird.
