Custom Ford F550 and Lance Camper

Here is one beefy camping rig. It is a 2008 Ford F550 crew cab with a Lance 830 cab over, chassis mounted camper.  There is plenty of room in this custom hard sided truck camper. The F550 is designed as a commercial truck but it works great for the 4×4 expedition style vehicle. The off road capabilities with the comfort and convenience of the camper makes a nice combo.

The Ford Truck

The camper is mounted to a Ford F550 crew cab truck. The wheel base is 176 inches. To power this vehicle is a diesel 6.4 liter Powerstroke Engine. The transmission is a limited slip 4.88 gears. The wheels are 20 inch Rickson steel wheels. And added 6″ Fabtech lift kit.

Lance Camper

The camper is a Lance 830 model.  It is a cab over design and is 9 feet in length. And has been modified to fit the flat bed. The floor plan is a side dinette.  The unit is self contained.  There is the addition of a custom 32″ extension from XTRV.  The extension provides additional bunk beds inside. The camper is mounted to a flat bed with utility boxes along the side for additional storage of camping goods. These models came standard with electric jacks.

Lance was originally formed in 1966 by Richard Murray as M&M Trailers. Lance is a California-based builder of truck campers and trailers. Lance is experienced in the developed of reliable recreational products.
