Check out this picture of a Toyota Tacoma Camper with a beefy winch bumper. This is truck camper combo is a Toyota Tacoma Xcab 4×4 with a pop-up camper. Popup campers have a roof that will raise and lower. The section that raises has a canvas wall.  The purpose of the popup camper is to reduce wind resistance during travel. When the roof is lowered these is less surface area in the front of the camper.  This reduction in resistance held the vehicle get better gas mileage.  When at the camp ground the roof goes up provided additional head room inside the camper.  This is the best of both world scenario.
